CHRISTIAN UNBELIEVERS!

Many Christians are “Christian unbelievers” in many areas of their life! There are certain parts of the Bible that they believe, but other parts that they don’t.

It takes a new Christian a little while to get to know what God’s Word says and to come in line, but many who proclaim           have been Christians for quite a while, are either ignorant of God’s Word or just pick and choose the parts they want to believe!

Who are we to pick and choose, which parts we will believe and which parts we will obey and come in line with?!!!!!!!

2 Timothy 3:16-17

“ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

God cannot deny His Word or character! He and His Word are one.

His Word is our guide book for life. It is our map for getting to our destiny, so surely it makes sense to find out what it says and come in line if we want to arrive at our right destination!

Romans 8:35; 37-39

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril or sword?

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus was physically abused beyond what we can imagine – beaten 39 times with a cat-of-nine-tails. Nails hammered into His hands and feet. He was nailed to a cross, that was jolted into the ground; He had to support His weight in that condition for 6 hours! His body was totally traumatised. He took on and paid the price for every sin we have ever committed or that has been committed against us. He was separated from His Father for the first time in Eternity!

He was abused mentally, emotionally, spiritually, rejected more than any man, betrayed, abandoned, falsely accused, a man of sorrows acquainted with grief. Slaughtered, crucified.

Why did He allow all this? If Jesus, the innocent Son of God went through this for nothing, this would have been the most horrendous thing that ever happened in the history of mankind!

So, why did He allow and endure all this?

Because He loved us and so, we could be free of these things!

What other proof do we need that God loves us?!!!!!!

This is extreme sacrificial love!

He paid the price for all our sin, our guilt, our shame, our fears, our anxiety, our rejection, our abuse, our betrayal and abandonment.

He paid the price for our freedom, for our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing. So, we could be reconciled to God and have eternal life.

He was wounded that we might be healed!

He died that we might live!

And we don’t believe God loved us!

We need to choose to believe!

1 John 3:8

“For this purpose, the Son of God as manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

This is what Jesus did at the cross for us!

We need to choose to believe!

Galatians 5:1

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

Rejection, fear, shame, guilt are binding things. Jesus dealt with these things on our behalf so we can be free of them! We don’t have to be bound by them any longer!

We need to choose to believe!

Colossians 2:13-15

And you being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven all your trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Romans 8:31-32

“If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things?”

Matthew 19:26

“With God all things are possible.”

Psalm 23:2

“He restores my soul.”

We need to choose to believe!

So, if God’s Word says these things and it does, Guess what! Either these are true or God is a liar and a fraud! And He is definitely not that!

God cannot deny His Word or His character.

It is our job to daily and continually bring our thinking and will in line with God’s Word. If God or His Word says it, our response should be, “Yes Lord I am choosing to believe You, because You said it!” (Despite what we have thought or how things have seemed to be to us!) And put it into action!

He is truth and His Word is truth and that will set you free.

John 8:31-32

“If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.” “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

God is the source of all true wisdom and He has the plan for your life. He created you with a purpose in mind and gave you the gifts and characteristics to fulfil it, so surely it makes sense to find out what that purpose is and come in line with Him and His plan for your life!

And it is by getting to know God’s Word and daily and continually bringing our thinking and will in line, drawing on and receiving His wisdom, power and strength that we will come into that purpose and the plan that He has for us.

There is really no other place worth being than in the perfect will of God, because that is where we will find our peace, happiness and fulfillment doing what God created us for!

If we are wounded –

  • We will have a distorted perception. We are a combination of all our past, of everything that has happened to us, and what we have experienced. So, our perception is valid to us, it is our reality, but not correct.
  • Deception, lies and fears can come in because of this.
  • We will have wrong thinking.
  • So, we will have wrong actions, behaviour and feelings.

Wounded > distorted perception> wrong thinking> wrong behaviour and actions> wrong results.

We need to get our wounds healed! Jesus was wounded that we could be healed.

Isaiah 53:3-5

V.3 He is despised and rejected by men. A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.

V.4 Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.

V.5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the

1 John 3:8

For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil.

Galatians 5:1

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

To get free –

  • We need to choose to forgive all those who have hurt and wounded us for all the hurt and damage they have caused.
  • We need to own the hurt and our reactions to it, our feelings towards them.
  • We need to appropriate the blood of Jesus to wash, cleanse free and release us.
  • We need to receive His healing love to restore and fill the voids.
  • We need to strip the Enemy of all false power and access it has given him.
  • And we need to receive Christ’s freedom and resurrection life back into all those hurt places.

Jesus paid the ultimate price for our healing and freedom and that we could have a life, here on earth, before we go to be with Him in Heaven.

The Enemy has stolen it! He is a thief, a murderer and a destroyer! Don’t let him have your freedom that Jesus died for you to have.

It doesn’t belong to him. It belongs to you!

Become a Christian believer. Choose to believe God’s Word says it. He cannot deny His Word.

Appropriate the power of the cross and resurrection to bless Jesus and make Him feel what He did for you was worthwhile!
