Insightful poem by Patricia Usiobaifo, Women’s Apostolic Alliance Member
Emotions, thoughts, distractions, and memories,
Fear, Self doubt, comparison, one can struggle with all of these.
Voices from the past that have damaged your soul,
The inability to believe that you can ever be whole.
Thoughts can plague your mind or indeed they can set you free,
Depending on whose thoughts I choose to accept and believe.
The thoughts of God … or the thoughts of “me”.
“Me” thoughts tie me to my failures, flaws and past ,
My imperfections, insecurities, the negatives behind the daily mask.
God’s thoughts toward me are of love, peace, a future and a hope.
They project my value, potential, virtues, and my growth.
His words tell me “ Be strong, and of good courage, do not be afraid
For I your God am with you always, do not be dismayed “.
And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you, He will be with you all the way.
He will not leave you nor forsake you
If you accept that divine exchange.
Choose to believe that He died for you
Bore your sin on His body, on that wooden cross
Exchange your life and thoughts for His
And know this… He thought you were worth the cost .
